How can I get a price from the Canadian pharmacy for my prescriptions?

Q. Why are prescription prices so low in Canada?

A. Our prices are lower than drug prices in the U.S. for several reasons:

  • The Canadian Government sets limits on pharmaceutical pricing and caps on subsequent price increases.
  • Additionally, the Canadian dollar is much lower in value than the U.S. dollar.
  • Our Canadian pharmacy also purchases medicine in bulk, which results in the great savings for our customers.

Q. How do I know that your prescription drugs are the same as the ones I would receive in the U.S.?

A. The approval system and manufacturing standards for pharmaceuticals are very rigorous in Canada. Most of the drugs sold in Canada are exactly the same drugs as sold in the U.S. Some are the Canadian version of an American drug. Even though they are the same medication, their name maybe different, the look may not be as familiar as the one you are familiar with (The U.S. drug "Prilosec®" is called "Losec®" in Canada and is a pill rather than a capsule. It still is the same drug made by the same manufacturer).

Q. Do I get charged a shipping fee for every prescription?

A. There is only one shipping charge per delivery, not per prescription. When you order multiple prescriptions at the same time you are charged only one shipping change, currently approximately US $13.00 (maximum 6 prescriptions to the same address with the same credit card).

Q. How long does it take to get my prescription drugs?

A. Your order will be processed by a Canadian physician and the Canadian pharmacy within 10 working days after we receive your properly completed forms. Shipping time can vary, but will usually take between 10 - 12 business days.

Q. Do you accept insurance plans?

A. The Canadian pharmacy does not accept payments from insurance companies right now. We suggest that you forward a copy of your receipt, which you receive from the Canadian pharmacy, to your insurer for their consideration. Reimbursement cannot be suggested or guaranteed by Canada Rx Shop or the Canadian pharmacy.

Q. How do I get refills?

A. Three weeks before your prescription runs out we will notify you by email, phone or mail and remind you to call in your refill order according to instruction given by the Canadian pharmacy. The Canadian pharmacy will also monitor your supply and may contact you independently.

Q. Is there a way that I can save even more money?

A. Yes there is. If you ask your doctor to prescribe a full years supply our Canadian pharmacy will send you a 3 month supply every 90 days. That not only saves you shipping expenses but also reduces the cost of your medicine because you are buying in bigger quantities, which always generates price reductions.

Q. Are your prices guaranteed?

A. The prices shown on the website CanadaRxShop.com are subject to change due to the US$/CAN$ exchange rate fluctuation and the actual Rx prices at the time the order is processed by the Canadian pharmacy. The prices may increase or decrease by approximately 2% - 4%.
For refill prices the Canadian pharmacy will ask for your consent before shipping medication when prices have increased since your last order.

Q. What is your privacy policy?

A. At Canada Rx Shop and the Canadian pharmacy all patient information is kept strictly Confidential. Any information submitted to Canada Rx Shop is used for the sole purpose of forwarding it to the Canadian pharmacy for the dispensing of prescription medication. Your information will never be sold or used for anything other than filling your prescriptions.

Q. Is there any additional cost involved when I switch my prescription?

A. All orders must be paid in Canadian dollars. Some credit card companies may charge you a fee for the exchange from Canadian dollars to US dollars. Make sure you check with them and use a credit card that does not have those charges.

Q. What can slow down the process of my order?

A. At the Canadian pharmacy, the goal is to get your order processed within 10 business days, and 10-12 business days for shipping. Sometimes, this process can be slowed down slightly if:

a) The customer's credit card information is inaccurate or incomplete. Always ensure that you copy down your credit card information accurately, and ensure that all the fields are completed when filling in the on-line forms.
b) The customer's credit card company denies the purchase because it is from a foreign company. Sometimes, as a security measure, credit card companies will deny purchases that are made in a foreign country if they can tell that you haven't traveled there recently. It helps if you are able to speak to your credit card company to let them know that a purchase from a Canadian pharmacy will be going through on your credit card, so that they will permit this charge.
